The assignment was a game changer in terms of how the design process could be incorporated into teaching. After assembling the team of Angola's finest engineers the team returns from the competition with hardware.

The Task: Get a toy car smoothly from point A to point B. An approximate span of a 400mm.

The Intent: Incorporate the design process to bring glory to team Angola.

The Criteria: Do research, Plan it out, Use only spaghetti, glue, and carefully placed ties and struts.

After weeks of sleepless nights consulting with Youtube’s finest engineers and doing mission impossible style espionage to “burrow” ideas from other groups. Our team came up with a flawless design. The “Angolan Crossing” would be made up of triangles to resist the load causing compression and tension.

Inspired by the beverages at Garbanzo, Jose Bautista's Bat flip, and Angola's Miradouro da Lua, the team knew their design must make their passengers feel safe. The complete opposite feeling of staring down the depths of one of these treacherous cliffs.

After running several tests, the Angolan Crossing held its own. It established a strength to weight ratio over 13 while maintaining a smooth ride for those who passed.

Why were we so successful you ask? Well aside from my wit and charm, I'm a veteran of the design process, and it helps that I did a unit on structures... Look at Dene's diagram of one of the experiments I did at isaac brock.

Thank you 3/4's of Isaac Brock, you helped guide Team Angola to victory.
